Cahaya City Overview
Cahaya is inZOI's third region, added on August 20, 2025 with the free inZOI: Island Getaway DLC. The name means "light", and the region is built around a single idea: rest.

Getting there
Travel uses the City Trips system added in v0.3.0:
- Use a smartphone or computer and choose "How to travel to another city", or
- Take the airport shuttle or seaplane.
City Trips itself is free to all players, but travelling to Cahaya specifically requires the Island Getaway DLC installed.
What's on the islands
Cahaya comprises a main island and a resort island. Confirmed activities include:
- Swimming and snorkelling — swim in the ocean, and snorkel to meet marine life and find collectibles.
- Fishing — a skill in its own right, with better rods improving your odds of rare catches.
- Farming — place plots and grow crops to cook with or sell.
- Mining and jewel crafting — gather raw gemstones and cut them into jewels at a crafting table, using the Handiwork and Collecting skills.
- Boating and exploring uninhabited islands.
- Turtlebot Race at the Cahaya Resort.
- Beach Club and Wedding Studio — added in the October 2025 update, which also gave every city a Funeral Home & Columbarium and Cemetery.
Whale sharks were nearly impossible to catch at launch. v0.3.5 expanded the low-probability zones and added new ones, considerably widening the search area.
Since there are no jobs, Zois support themselves through a self-sufficient lifestyle — farming, fishing, and selling what they gather at a market stand or the Resale Store. Career system improvements were deferred to a later city update.
Items
The DLC adds 49 character items in a bohemian summer style — swimwear, hats, accessories — plus resort-themed building pieces. See our item breakdown. A separate set of 56 items came with the base v0.3.0 update and needs no DLC.
Things to know
- Start a new save for the full experience. The team warned before launch that city expansions don't apply correctly to existing save files, and several v0.3.0 systems are new-game only.
- Early bugs were common. The first week brought hotfixes for City Trips loading loops, missing Resale Store owners, missing street vendors after season changes, and Zois dying too often to the new natural disasters — see v0.3.2 and v0.3.4.
What changed from the original announcement
Cahaya was first revealed as Kucingku — described as a cat-filled island paradise inspired by Indonesian holiday destinations, with cat interactions as its defining feature:
"Kucingku is one of the cities in a parallel universe that brings to mind Indonesia's beautiful holiday destinations. Known for its crystal-clear water, vibrant coral reefs, and diverse marine life, it is a haven for snorkelers and divers. The island is also home to countless cats, making interactions with them an essential part of its unique appeal." — original official description
The rename to Cahaya on June 20, 2025 came with a shift in focus from cats to rest and relaxation. Snorkelling and diving survived the change; the heavy cat theming was not carried into the final release description.
