What are the inZOI system requirements?
inZOI, developed by Krafton using the powerful Unreal Engine 5, boasts stunning photorealistic graphics and complex life simulation systems. This high level of detail and realism means the game requires a reasonably capable computer to run effectively. Understanding the system requirements is crucial before purchasing or attempting to play, ensuring you have a smooth and enjoyable experience in the world of Zois.
inZOI runs on Windows PCs and on Macs with Apple Silicon. Jump straight to the specs you need:
Official PC System Requirements for inZOI
Krafton has provided official specifications for various levels of graphical fidelity and performance. Running the game below the Minimum requirements is not recommended and may lead to significant issues or prevent the game from launching altogether.
Key Considerations Before Checking Specs:
- Dedicated GPU strongly recommended: the official minimum still calls for a dedicated graphics card with its own VRAM. However, Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics became officially supported in v0.9.0 (June 2026), with the latest driver. Expect low settings and modest frame rates — but it will run, which was not true before.
- VRAM is Critical: The game has a strict minimum requirement of 6GB of VRAM. Attempting to run with less will likely result in errors like "Out of Video Memory" or crashes.
- SSD Highly Recommended: While an SSD (Solid State Drive) isn't listed as mandatory for minimum specs, installing inZOI on an SSD instead of a traditional HDD is strongly recommended for all tiers. This significantly reduces loading times and helps prevent texture pop-in issues.
- Smart Zoi Feature: Enabling the optional advanced AI feature "Smart Zoi" considerably increases the load on your system, particularly the GPU. Note the separate minimum GPU requirement listed for enabling this feature at each tier.
System Requirements Table:
| Spec Category | Minimum | Medium | Recommended | High |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10/11 (64-bit) | Windows 10/11 (64-bit) | Windows 10/11 (64-bit) | Windows 10/11 (64-bit) |

Official Mac System Requirements for inZOI
inZOI also runs natively on Mac. The Mac version is built for Apple Silicon, so an Apple M-series chip is required — the graphics requirement is met by the chip's integrated GPU rather than a separate card, and the memory figure refers to unified memory.
Mac System Requirements Table:
| Spec Category | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | macOS Sequoia 15.0 | macOS Sequoia 15.0 |
| Processor | Apple M1 | Apple M3 |
| Memory | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| Graphics | Apple M1 | Apple M3 |
| Storage | SSD 36 GB | SSD 45 GB |
The game will check the performance of your game environment and automatically set graphics quality options after being launched for the first time. Use upscaling and other options to adjust graphics quality if needed.
What this means in practice:
- Apple Silicon only: An M-series chip (M1 or newer) is required. Intel-based Macs do not meet the processor requirement.
- macOS Sequoia 15.0: Both the minimum and recommended tiers call for macOS Sequoia 15.0, so update macOS before installing.
- 16 GB of memory at every tier: Unlike the PC specs, the memory requirement doesn't change between minimum and recommended — 8 GB Macs fall below minimum.
- SSD storage: Budget 36 GB at minimum and 45 GB for the recommended setup, plus headroom for future updates.
Can I Run the Game if I Don't Meet the Minimum Requirements?
Yes but it's not recommended. Officially, running inZOI below the minimum specifications is not supported or recommended. Attempting to do so will likely result in:
- Failure to Launch: The game might refuse to start, potentially showing errors related to DirectX, GPU features, or insufficient memory (RAM or VRAM).
- Frequent Crashes: The game may crash often, making it unplayable.
- Severe Performance Issues: Expect extremely low frame rates (FPS), constant stuttering, and significant input lag.
- Visual Glitches: Textures might fail to load correctly, models could appear distorted, or other graphical artifacts may occur.
- Errors: Specific errors like "Out of Video Memory" or "Limited Graphics Card Performance Detected" are common.
Are there exceptions? In some cases, a system below minimum in one area (e.g., a slightly older CPU but meeting RAM and GPU VRAM requirements) might launch the game on the lowest settings, but theres a chance that the experience will be very poor and unstable.
The hard limitations are typically:
- A capable GPU: most integrated graphics still won't run the game. The exception is Intel Iris Xe, supported since June 2026 with the latest driver.
- DirectX 12 / Compatible OS: An outdated OS or GPU lacking necessary DX12 features will prevent launch.

What If My Computer Doesn't Meet the Requirements?
If your system falls short, you have a few options:
- Lower In-Game Settings (If Slightly Below Recommended): If you meet minimum specs but struggle at higher settings, drastically lower graphics options in the game menu.
- Cloud Gaming (GeForce NOW): Use NVIDIA's GeForce NOW service to stream the game from their powerful servers. You still need to own the game on Steam and have a fast, stable internet connection. Other services like Boosteroid or Shadow PC might also work but check compatibility.
- Hardware Upgrade: The most direct solution is upgrading your PC components, primarily the Graphics Card (GPU) to one with sufficient VRAM, followed by RAM if you're below the minimum 12GB.
- Use a Mac with Apple Silicon: If your Windows PC falls short but you own an M-series Mac that meets the Mac requirements, you can play the native Mac version instead. On Mac, memory and chip generation are fixed at purchase, so upgrading means a newer machine rather than swapping parts.
OS Compatibility
On Windows: Ensure your Windows 10 or Windows 11 is up-to-date and supports DirectX 12. Older versions of Windows or those lacking necessary updates (specifically for the DirectX 12 Agility SDK) might cause launch issues even if hardware requirements are met. Running Windows Update is crucial.
On Mac: The game requires macOS Sequoia 15.0, so check for macOS updates before installing. On first launch, inZOI checks your system's performance and sets graphics quality automatically — if performance isn't where you want it, adjust the upscaling and other graphics options in the game's settings.
Understanding and meeting the system requirements is the first step to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience playing inZOI. Given the game's visual ambition, investing in capable hardware or utilizing cloud services is recommended for the best possible simulation.
