inZOI Cities and Game World Overview

Welcome to the expansive and meticulously crafted world of inZOI! As a next-generation life simulation, inZOI distinguishes itself with highly realistic environments powered by Unreal Engine 5. Instead of a single, sprawling map, the game presents players with multiple distinct Cities, each designed as a parallel universe inspired by real-world locations, offering unique atmospheres, cultures, career paths, and gameplay opportunities.

As a player, you step into the role of an intern at AR COMPANY, tasked with observing and guiding the lives of the virtual inhabitants known as Zois within these diverse urban landscapes. Choosing where your Zois live is a significant decision that shapes their experiences and the stories you can tell.

Playable Cities in Early Access

At the launch of Early Access, inZOI offers two primary cities to explore:

Dowon City

Dowon City World Select Icon

  • Inspiration: Seoul, South Korea (specifically areas like Gangnam).
  • Vibe: A dynamic blend of ancient tradition and hyper-modernity. Bustling streets, serene temples, sleek skyscrapers, and lively parks coexist. Experiences four distinct seasons.
  • Highlights: The heart of the in-game K-pop scene (Adam Entertainment), esports arenas (DG Esports), Korean street food, traditional architecture (Ullim Temple), efficient subway system.
  • Unique Careers: Idol Trainee, Entertainment Planning Team, Pro Gamer, Firefighter, Street Soldier.

Bliss Bay City

Bliss Bay World Select Icon

  • Inspiration: Coastal American cities, particularly Santa Monica, California.
  • Vibe: Sun-drenched, relaxed, and focused on beach life and entertainment. Features a year-round warm climate.
  • Highlights: Iconic seaside amusement park, expansive beaches perfect for surfing, lively pier, Muscle Beach outdoor gym, skate park, American-style diners (Golden Apple Burger). Uses a bus system for public transport.
  • Unique Careers: Amusement Park Worker, American Football Player, Gangster, Surf Shop Employee.

Cahaya (DLC region)

Cahaya City (formerly Kucingku)

Cahaya (formerly Kucingku) World Select Icon

  • Status: Released August 20, 2025 with the free inZOI: Island Getaway DLC — see the v0.3.0 patch notes.
  • How you play it: A travel destination rather than a home. Zois live in Dowon or Bliss Bay and take short trips to Cahaya via City Trips. Travelling there requires the DLC installed; City Trips itself is free.
  • Inspiration: Southeast Asian tropical islands, particularly Indonesian resorts.
  • Theme: A resort island built around rest and relaxation. Renamed from Kucingku to Cahaya ("light") on June 20, 2025, with no jobs or schools.
  • Activities: Swimming, snorkelling, fishing, farming, mining and jewel crafting, boating, exploring uninhabited islands, and the Turtlebot Race. v0.4.0 added a Beach Club and Wedding Studio.

No further DLC regions have been announced since.

Which cities can be added to inZOI - Speculation

Early demos and the world map shown in the game reveal names for several other potential future cities. While Krafton has not confirmed details, we can speculate on what these locations might offer based on their names and the need for diverse gameplay experiences. City Interaction and Customization

While you cannot build a city entirely from scratch due to technical limitations, inZOI offers significant customization options for existing cities:

Editing City Appearance & Environment

Accessed via the Map ([M] Key) > City Appearance tab:

  • Weather & Seasons: Temporarily change the weather (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy, Snowy) and its intensity. Dowon experiences four seasons naturally, while Bliss Bay is typically warm.
  • Flora: Change the dominant types of trees and grass/plants city-wide.
  • Decorations & Effects: Add large-scale decorations (like giant balloons) and special effects (like fireworks, butterflies, drones).
  • Animals: Choose up to three types of animals (cats, dogs, pandas, deer, etc.) to populate public spaces and adjust their density.
  • Billboards: Upload your own images to display on in-game billboards. (YouTube video streaming was discontinued in v0.5.0 due to web viewer version issues.)
  • Cleanliness: Adjust the overall environmental cleanliness, ranging from pristine to run-down and polluted.

Managing City Stability & Population

Accessed via the Map ([M] Key) > Manage Zois tab > Manage City:

  • Stability Sliders: Adjust parameters like relationship success rates (Friendship, Romance, Business, Family), emotional positivity/negativity, civic consciousness, city safety, fire rates, appliance durability, health levels, population caps, and more. These changes influence the autonomous behavior and overall dynamics of the city's Zois.
  • Karma Report: The Karma score, the "Zoi Karma Status" report section, and the Karma dialogue options in City Status Control were removed in October 2025. See what remains

Editing Public Lots

Certain community lots are marked as "(Editable)". You can enter a limited Build Mode for these streets or lots (Edit Streets/Public Property button in the lower-right) to place furniture and objects, allowing you to customize public spaces like parks or plazas.

Moving Between Cities

Visiting other cities works. Relocating to one still doesn't.

City Trips (visiting)

Added in v0.3.0 on August 20, 2025, and free to all players:

  • Use a smartphone or computer and choose "How to travel to another city", or
  • Take the airport shuttle or seaplane.

Travelling to Cahaya specifically requires the Island Getaway DLC installed; the other cities don't.

Businesses block City Travel

Since v0.5.0, if you own a business property, have a registered business, or are employed by one, City Travel is unavailable until you sell up or resign.

Move Cities (relocating) — still not shipped

Permanently moving a family from one city to another was a December 2025 roadmap item and has not been delivered. The city you choose at the start is still where that family lives. See the development roadmap for the other outstanding items.

The world of inZOI is designed as a collection of detailed, distinct locales, each offering a unique flavor of life simulation. With three regions now available and travel between them, players have a growing canvas to create endless stories and explore varied lifestyles.
