Modding Roadmap Update: September Update Moves to October, UI Editor Cut

inZOI modding roadmap schedule update

Two weeks after the ModKit's launch, the inZOI team has revised the rest of its 2025 modding roadmap — with a delay and a cancellation.

What changed

  • The September modding update moves to October. It will now ship alongside the inZOI gameplay update planned for the same period.
  • The UI editor has been dropped. A UI editor feature originally planned for this update was cut following internal review.

The team cited feature completeness, better alignment with the game's overall direction, and more consistent quality as the reasons. Further details are promised around the time of the October update.

What this means for the roadmap

The original 2025 modding roadmap set out three waves: the ModKit in May, character and architectural modding in September, and outfits, interaction scripts, and localisation tools in December. The first wave slipped to June, and now the second slips to October.

Worth reading alongside the ModKit AMA answers, where the team said a dedicated facial ModKit was expected after September, and confirmed scripting support is targeted for December — the December wave is so far unchanged.

The team also said it will announce roadmap changes through official channels as they happen, to avoid confusion against the previously published plan.
