The delayed May update now has a firm date: Friday, June 13, 2025. Lead developer Kjun opened with another apology to players who waited, then laid out a substantial feature list — the ModKit, roadmap items from the showcase, and a significant reworking of how families and relationships work.

More ways to build a family

The biggest structural change is that Zois can now have children regardless of marital status.

• Adoption was originally designed with various prerequisites. The team decided to strip most of those away so players can form families more freely.
• Through medical procedures, you'll be able to pick a Zoi whose traits you want and have a child using their genetic information.

Romance opens up

• Teenage romance: Teen Zois can now have romantic interactions with each other. Kjun added a candid aside here — looking back, he wishes the team had made teenagers and adults look more visually distinct.
• Romance with any Zoi: A feature that wasn't finished for Early Access is arriving — Zois can form romantic relationships with any other Zoi in the city. It's enabled through the Change Gender Identity button on the Create a Zoi screen.
• Sending the first text: Your Zoi can now start conversations by text to make plans as relationships develop. You can't write custom messages yet, though Kjun says the team hopes to add that eventually.

Quality-of-life improvements

• Cheats are coming in-game. The available set is limited to start, with more planned in later updates.
• UI size settings: three options for scaling UI elements and text, added in response to visibility feedback.
• Body weight and muscle now respond to lifestyle — overeating puts weight on, working out builds muscle.
• Item exchange: Zois can gift, give, or sell items from their bag to one another.

New items

• 20+ Character Studio assets, including the frequently requested hair additions, plus outfits and accessories.
• 100+ furniture items, covering kitchens, bedrooms, and babies.

Alongside all of this, the update carries the previously announced modding features and broader improvements to sound settings, Canvas, animations, and simulation.
