With inZOI moving to Unreal Engine 5.6 in the v0.8.0 update, CurseForge mods need migrating too — and there's a window where your mods will look broken.
When
- April 29, 2026, 08:00 – 10:00 UTC (roughly 2 hours), after the update
What happens during the window
CurseForge stays accessible, but most previously installed mods may not be enabled due to compatibility with the new engine version. Newly installed mods can behave the same way until the work finishes.
This is temporary. All previously installed mod data is retained. Once migration finishes, update your mods in CurseForge and they work as before.
Why this is happening now
Mod compatibility with the engine version has been a running theme. The Next Engine Preview beta branch in March couldn't run mods at all for exactly this reason. Now that 5.6 is on the main branch, the whole CurseForge library has to come with it.
The ModKit was updated for 5.6 in the same release, so mod authors have what they need to rebuild. See our mods guide for how installation works.
