inZOI Jobs & Careers Overview
Embarking on a career is a significant part of your Zois' lives in the detailed life simulation game inZOI. Jobs provide essential income (Meow), contribute to fulfilling Ambitions, help develop Skills, and offer unique gameplay experiences and storylines. inZOI features a diverse range of careers, some tied to specific cities and others involving different playstyles.
How to Get a Job in inZOI
Finding employment for your Zoi is managed through their smartphone:
- Open Smartphone: Access the phone interface by pressing [P] or clicking the phone icon next to the Zoi's portrait.
- Open Career App: Tap the Career app icon (usually depicted with a briefcase or similar).
- Browse Listings: Navigate the Recruitment tab. Jobs are often categorized by company/location and whether they are Full-Time or Part-Time.
- Check Requirements: Click on a job listing to see details like:
- Pay: Daily or hourly wage (Meow).
- Schedule: Work days and hours.
- Location: On-site (Active Job) or Offsite (Rabbit Hole Job).
- Eligibility: Required Age Group(s). Most jobs are for Young Adult to Middle-Aged, but exceptions exist (e.g., Idol Trainee is Young Adult only).
- Vacancies: Shows how many positions are available (though you can often still apply even if it says '0', displacing an existing NPC).
- Apply: Click the Apply button. Your Zoi will usually receive a confirmation text message within a few minutes.
Note: Some jobs are exclusive to specific cities (Dowon or Bliss Bay). Ensure your Zoi lives in the correct city if targeting a specific career.
Active Jobs vs. Rabbit Hole Jobs
inZOI features two main types of work experiences:
Active Jobs
- Gameplay: You physically accompany your Zoi to their workplace (e.g., Adam Entertainment, AZ Convenience Store, Dowon Fire Station).
- Tasks: You receive a list of timed tasks for different parts of the shift (morning, afternoon). Completing these tasks efficiently is crucial for promotion.
- Immersion: Offers a more hands-on, immersive work experience where you manage your Zoi's actions directly.
- Promotion: Generally faster, often possible within 3-4 workdays if tasks are consistently completed.
Rabbit Hole Jobs
- Gameplay: Your Zoi takes a taxi or disappears off-screen to work. You cannot follow them or see the workplace interior. These jobs are marked with a briefcase icon.
- Tasks: You select from a list of available work actions via a pop-up menu next to the Zoi's portrait. These tasks don't have strict time limits within the workday but contribute to performance.
- Random Events: These jobs often feature pop-up scenarios requiring player choices, which can impact performance or mood.
- Promotion: Generally slower than active jobs, potentially taking 8-10 workdays (around 3 in-game weeks) per promotion level due to fewer workdays per week and less direct impact on performance metrics.
- Bug Note: An early access bug sometimes prevents promotion to the third/final tier in some Rabbit Hole careers.
Career Progression & Promotions
Climbing the career ladder increases salary and sometimes unlocks new interactions or perks.
- Performance Meter: Progress towards the next promotion is tracked by a career bar, usually visible in the Career app under "My Career".
- Gaining Experience:
- Active Jobs: Primarily gained by successfully completing timed tasks. Skill levels relevant to the job might also play a role.
- Rabbit Hole Jobs: Gained by selecting work tasks from the pop-up menu and potentially by making positive choices in random events. Simply showing up contributes.
- Vacancy Requirement: Sometimes, even if the performance bar is full, a promotion won't occur until a spot opens up in the higher position (an NPC needs to retire, quit, or be displaced). The game usually notifies you when you're waiting for a vacancy.
- Schedule Impact: Adjusting your work schedule via the Schedule app can affect promotions. Shortening work hours will likely slow or prevent advancement. Lengthening hours doesn't necessarily speed it up. Stick to the default schedule for optimal progression.
Resigning and Getting Fired
Zois don't have to stay in one job forever.
- Resigning: A Zoi can quit their job at any time by going to the Career app > My Career tab and clicking the Resign button. This makes them unemployed immediately. They can reapply later, but career progress resets.
- Getting Fired (Absences): Accumulating 3 unexcused absences (missing work without canceling via the schedule or a valid reason) will result in termination. The Zoi receives a text message confirming they've been fired.
- Mandatory Retirement: Most careers have an age limit. Zois are typically forced to retire when they reach the Senior life stage. The unique Idol Trainee career requires retirement upon aging up to Adult. Check the Eligibility Criteria in the Career app listing for specifics.
Upcoming: Freelance Jobs
According to the official roadmap, Freelancer Jobs (like Author) are planned to be added in the May 2025 update, offering more flexible work options outside the structured schedules of traditional careers.
Whether pursuing the fame of a K-Pop idol in Dowon, the thrills of a firefighter, the creativity of a developer, or the danger of a gangster in Bliss Bay, the diverse career system in inZOI provides countless paths for your Zois to follow.
