inZOI Apartments Explained: High-Rise Living & Customization

Apartment living offers a distinct residential experience in inZOI, providing an alternative to standalone houses. These multi-unit dwellings, often found in high-rise towers or smaller complexes, cater to various household sizes and budgets, integrating your Zois directly into the urban fabric of cities like Dowon and Bliss Bay.

Are Apartments Available in inZOI?

Yes, apartments are a base game feature available in inZOI's Early Access. They function as selectable residential lots for your Zoi families.

How to Live in an Apartment

Moving into an apartment follows the same process as moving into a house:

  1. New Game: When starting a new game and selecting a home for your first Zoi or family, apartment units will appear on the city map alongside houses. They are typically marked with icons indicating they are residential lots. Check the lot details for cost (Meow) and size.
  2. Moving Existing Families: If your family is already living elsewhere, you can use the "Relocate Here" option on the City Map ([M] Key) when clicking on an available apartment lot.

inZOI Build Mode Appartment Customization

Apartment Customization in Build Mode

While you can't build an entire apartment tower from scratch, inZOI offers significant customization for the unit your Zois live in:

  • Full Interior Editing: Once your family lives in an apartment, you can enter Build Mode ([I] Key) and fully customize the interior layout. This includes:
    • Moving, adding, or removing interior walls.
    • Changing flooring and wallpaper.
    • Placing all types of furniture, appliances, and decor.
    • Recoloring and applying custom textures to interior elements.
  • Exterior Customization (Limited): Unlike standalone houses where you control the entire exterior, apartment customization is usually limited to:
    • Balconies/Patios: If the specific apartment unit includes a private balcony or patio space, you can typically customize its flooring, railings (if applicable), and place outdoor furniture and decor.
    • Doors/Windows (Unit Specific): You can usually change the style of the main entry door to your unit and the interior-facing windows, but you likely cannot add new ones or alter the building's main facade windows. (Note: A bug fix mentioned issues replacing locked doors/windows after platform height adjustments on apartment lots, confirming some level of interaction is possible).
  • What You Likely Cannot Edit:
    • The main structure of the apartment building (exterior walls, overall shape).
    • Common areas like hallways, lobbies, elevators, or shared amenities (pools, gyms - if they exist in the building).
    • The appearance or layout of neighboring units.

Types of Apartment Buildings

inZOI features various styles of apartment buildings across its cities:

  • High-Rise Towers: Tall buildings with numerous floors, often offering city views (e.g., Dowon Heights Building, Lumiere).
  • Mid-Rise/Low-Rise Complexes: Smaller buildings with fewer floors, sometimes offering a more neighborhood feel (e.g., Heaven Hill Apartments, Ocean Bliss Apartment, Gaya Apartments).
  • Varied Unit Sizes: Apartments cater to different needs, described as suitable for 1-2 person households up to 5-6 person households, depending on the specific unit.

Examples:

  • Bliss Bay: City Nest Apartment, Heaven Hill Apartments, Lumiere, Ocean Bliss Apartment.
  • Dowon: Dowon Heights Building, Gaya Apartments (Building 102, 105).

Floor Limits

While you don't build the entire tower, the game supports tall structures. Apartment buildings in inZOI can technically reach the game's maximum building height limit, which is 30 floors. This allows for truly towering residential options in the cityscape.

Gameplay Considerations for Apartment Living

While core gameplay remains similar, living in an apartment might introduce subtle differences compared to a house:

  • Proximity to Neighbors: Although you can't directly interact with neighbours inside their units (without visiting), the proximity might lead to more frequent interactions in shared spaces or outside the building.
  • Lot Size vs. Living Space: Apartment "lots" on the map represent the building footprint, but your actual editable living space is confined to the interior unit and any private balcony.
  • Views: Higher floors in towers can offer impressive city views.
  • Potential for Building Amenities (Future?): While not confirmed for Early Access launch, future updates could introduce shared building amenities like gyms, pools, or lounges accessible to residents.

Apartments in inZOI provide diverse housing options, integrating Zois into the urban environment and offering unique customization opportunities within the confines of multi-unit living.
