What is in the inZOI Development Roadmap for 2025?

Following the launch of inZOI into Early Access on March 28, 2025 (preceded by a brief public free demo), developer Krafton shared an exciting Development Roadmap outlining their plans for significant updates and new features throughout the remainder of 2025. Revealed during the Online Showcase livestream, this roadmap gives players insight into the game's evolution and the new content they can anticipate during the Early Access period.

It's important to remember that while this roadmap provides a clear direction, development priorities can shift based on player feedback and technical needs. Krafton has also committed to releasing smaller hotfixes between major updates to address critical issues.

Update #1 (Planned for May 2025)

This first major update focuses heavily on community creativity, quality-of-life improvements, and core system enhancements:

  • Mod Kit (Maya & Blender): Official tools to help the community create custom content (mods) using popular 3D modeling software.
  • Weight & Muscle Adjustment Changes: Refinements to how Zois gain or lose weight/muscle during gameplay.
  • In-Game Cheat Codes: Introduction of more traditional cheat commands beyond the initial money cheat.
  • Relationship Improvements: Enhancements to how relationships develop and function.
  • Adoption System: Adding the ability for Zois to adopt children, providing an alternative way to expand families.
  • Build Mode Improvements & New Furniture: QoL updates for building and new items to decorate with.
  • Create a Zoi (CAZ) Improvements: Enhancements to the character creation tools.
  • Outfit Updates: New clothing items or customization options.

Update #2 (Planned for August 2025)

A significant update planned to introduce the first new location and highly requested gameplay features:

  • Free DLC: Kucingku Cat Island: The first new playable city, inspired by Southeast Asian resorts and filled with cats.
  • Ghost Play: The ability to play as Zois who have died with bad Karma, likely involving tasks to earn redemption.
  • Swimming & Pools: Adding the ability for Zois to swim and likely introducing tools to build swimming pools.

  • AI Build Mode: Potentially an AI-assisted feature to help with building or decorating homes (details unclear).

  • Build Mode - Adjust Object Size: A highly requested feature to resize furniture and decor.
  • New Furniture: More items for building and decorating.

The final major planned update for 2025 aims to introduce complex new systems:

  • Memory System: Implementing a system where Zois remember past events and interactions, influencing future behavior and conversations. This replaces the simpler "Recording System" mentioned previously.
  • Move Cities: Allowing Zoi families to permanently relocate from one city (e.g., Dowon) to another (e.g., Bliss Bay or Kucingku).
  • Interaction Responses Based on Traits: Making Zoi reactions to conversations and events more varied and dependent on their core Trait.
  • Build Mode Improvements & New Furniture: Continued refinement of building tools and content.
  • Create a Zoi Improvements: More character creation enhancements.
  • Mod Updates: Further updates related to mod support.
  • New Outfits: More clothing options.
  • Indoor Temperature: Introducing a system where indoor temperatures can be managed (likely via thermostats/HVAC) independently of outdoor weather/seasons, impacting Zoi comfort.

Important Considerations

  • Flexibility: This roadmap represents plans, not rigid promises. Dates and features might shift based on development realities and community feedback.
  • Hotfixes: Critical bug fixes and minor improvements will continue to be deployed via hotfixes between these major updates.
  • Early Access Focus: The primary goal during this period is to build upon the core game, fix issues, and incorporate feedback towards a full 1.0 release.
